The Berlock® Gold Implants

Research have proved that the amount of gold ions released from solid gold implants in tissues is bigger the larger the surface of these implants is.

The Berlock® implants have been constructed to give the largest surface possible.

This developmental work has been carried out at the University of Aalborg. There will be ongoing research in improvement of the design for an even larger surface of the Berlock Implants.

A “Berlock” originally is a small metal pendant for the horse bridle to prevent the horse from sticking its tongue out in front of the bit. The name also applies to certain forms of jewellery for women.
